Frame
Welding
Workshop
(Workshop offered by master welder
Chris Enos of Framebones Cycle http://www.framebones.com)
Thank you for your interest in
the Frame Welding Workshop. If you have ever wondered what it would be
like
to get your hands on a torch and put a flame to metal then
you have come to the right place. I am offering you a chance to
spend time with me in my frame building shop as I guide you
through the processes of using an Oxy-Acetylene torch; that magical
tool of all tools bicycle frame gurus prefer to use.
This 1 day workshop introduces people to the art of welding/brazing and
most specifically bicycle frame tube welding/brazing. We will cover
basic tools used to successfully join bicycle frame tubing as used in
frame construction.
I have taught countless individuals the
art of
using a torch, the rules of keeping it safe, and the limits of its use.
I use my 40 years
of experience as a master welder along with what I have learned from
teaching others to help you better understand the skills needed for
bicycle frame building.
So, if you think you have the right stuff, or simply want to see for
yourself what goes on inside the flame, then take the next step and
register for the workshop. There is a limit of two individuals per
workshop, so expect a lot of one-on-one instruction. You must be a
minimum of 18 years old, reasonably sane, fully awake, able to see, and
not afraid
of fire.
The workshop will have demonstrations on the Oxy torch as used
for old school brass brazed
tube joining. If time permits there will be a demonstration on TIG
(GTAW)
welding, Silver brazing (lugs and brazons), tube cutting, joint
mitering, and filing along with a
quick look at BikeCad Pro. I plan to set up a complete frame in the
frame jig to
demonstrate how my jig works.
And after I have fill your head beyond its capacity,
I will put a torch in your hand and have you try it too. :)
By request, I have added another workshop date **10/16/10. If you would
like to take the workshop but can't make these dates then please let me
know. I may be persuaded to add more dates.

If you missed out, sorry. It's been fun, but as the song says, "All
